Gnome Habitat USA is private museum on the lore, legend and wonder of the gnome world. It is located in Auburn, California on five-acres of land owned by Elizabeth M. (“Liz”) Spera. Her collection of more that 2000 gnomes and other related items of interest is housed in a converted-barn-like outbuilding that sits in the foothills of Auburn, California.

Spera began collecting gnomes in 1979 after reading the popular coffee table book, “Gnomes” by Wil Huygen. She opened the museum in 2008.
The design of the Gnome Habitat USA was inspired by 4-acre Gnome Reserve & Wild Flower Garden in the countryside of North Devon, England, between Bideford and Bude just seven miles from the Devon-Cornwall border.
